This was fun! We saw multilpe alligators, birds, a large iguana which hid itselt looking like a tree branch, and had an amazing experience riding airboat through evergrlades while learning interesting facts about alligators, birds, and everglades. Then, we visited the animal exhibit and saw a cool turtle & snake presentation, saw more alligators, and tasted gator bites from the food truck. An awesome Florida experience. Can't believe we've visited Florida many times and never had this cool experience before. Higly recommend it!

Seeing alligators in the wild, even if there were only two of them. The show around 10:45 a.m. was really good—the guy with the long hair and beard had a really interesting story.

The trip was absolutely perfect! I brought my 3-year-old son, who was absolutely thrilled. It was a wonderful experience, both the airboat tour and the reptile exhibit. A beautiful day with amazing alligators and very knowledgeable guides and staff!

Ride an airboat

No Everglades trip is complete without a ride across its waters that is fast, noisy, and absolutely fun. The boat’s speed lets you cover more ground and see parts of the Everglades you can’t reach any other way.

Catch a gator show

See professional handlers perform jaw-dropping tricks and share facts about these ancient creatures. These shows offer a safe way to get close to alligators and learn how experts handle them.

Spot wildlife everywhere

From roseate spoonbills to wild turtles and raccoons, the Everglades are bustling with creatures big and small. Bring your camera and binoculars to catch glimpses of animals in their natural habitats.

Paddle through mangroves

Swap motors for muscle power on a peaceful kayak tour through shaded mangrove tunnels. Kayaking here lets you quietly explore narrow waterways and spot wildlife hidden from larger boats.

Stroll Shark Valley

This part of the National Park features a tram ride, observation tower, and some of the best walking trails for wildlife viewing. Climbing the observation tower gives you panoramic views of the vast Everglades landscape.

Tips for visiting the Everglades from Fort Lauderdale

  • Choose your departure point: Tours often start from Miami Beach or Downtown, or offer park-based meetups. Confirm your pickup spot when booking.
  • Plan for warm weather: Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and wear light clothing. It can get hot and humid fast.
  • Bug spray is a must: The Everglades are beautiful, but also buggy. A spritz before the tour can save your day.
  • Bring water and snacks: While there are cafes within some parks, your options will be limited. It’s best to carry snacks and water of your own too.
  • Double-check what's included: Not all tours include Everglades National Park entry. Verify if it’s covered in your ticket.
